This was a well maintained campground with an extremely helpful, courteous staff. I reserved 3 cabins & 3 full hooks sites 7 months in advance for a family gathering. When I arrived upon check-in, I was told the sites we reserved became "seasonal" and we were placed in different parts of the campground. After protesting, the staff was able to move 2 sites closer to the cabins. However, site #A6 was more like a parking spot than a site. There was no room for a fire ring, and the entrance of my front door was on the road. All the river front sites were taken by the seasonals. If I was to return I would confirm my reservations and not book site#A6.

There are some good & poor aspects about this park. The staff are friendly & helpful. There is allot of outdoor fun: canoeing, tubing, and fishing. There are allot of kids activities, which are announced on a loud speaker, when they begin. This was a nice feature. The food; BBQ, pancakes, and pizza were all good. The ice cream pallor was the best amenity of the campground. The poor aspects were the bathhouse/restroom. It was horrendous. They were in the process of building a new one for 2010. The concrete around the pool needed upkeep. The building, which housed the office/rec hall/store looks like it may collapse. The sites on the hill are too close together. We stayed on the w/e sites by the river. These were good; however, all grass, no gravel. When it rained, it became muddy. I would return, but only after the renovations.

There are alot of positive aspects for this campground: very clean restrooms/showers, crystal clear pool water, clean & tidy surroundings, alot of sport amenities, well stocked camp store, excellent snack cafe, alot of daily children activities, game room with air hockey/pool table/ping-pong table (rarely see all 3), modern playground equipment, excellent rental lodges/cabins, & a very helpful, courteous staff. However, there are 2 reasons why I can't give a 10 rating. First the HILL. The entire campground is a hill, and all the amenities are at the bottom. So everyone drives their cars to get to the pool, store, etc...There is a town road, which separates the campground by the pool, and the locals drive beyond the speed limit on it. Second, the RV sites lacked gravel. The rental RV sites had gravel, but the rest were grass/dirt. It rained for 1 day during my stay, and I spent the next day battling mud. Despite those 2 exceptions, it is a wonderful park & I will return.

We camped there during Memorial Day weekend & the place was crowded. The staff was friendly. The pool was supposed to be heated, but it wasn't. If you are able to get a lakeside spot, you would have enough space; however, we did not. Our lots were small, and everyone was on top of one another. My in-laws stayed in the cabins, and they were in great condition. There were alot of activities for everyone. I would return only if I could book a lakeside spot.
